"Reading Crisis: Filipino Students Below Proficiency Standards"

 The reading proficiency crisis in the Philippines is a significant issue. 80% of Filipino pupils do not meet the required level of reading proficiency. Placing the Philippines in the group of nations with the lowest rankings worldwide.

 Reading proficiency is a fundamental skill, and the high percentage of pupils who fall short of this level suggests more serious systemic problems in the educational system. Filipino students demonstrated severe reading difficulties. 

 In the 2018 PISA results, with the majority unable to understand or interpret texts at a basic level. These outcomes are caused by a number of causes. 

There is a need of improvement schools may require more resources, better educational facilities, and better teacher preparation. Schools and communities must work together to create a supportive environment that enhances students reading skills starting from the grassroots level. 

In order to guarantee that kids have access to the resources they require outside of school, communities should support literacy initiatives and reading campaigns.
